Levica Krmov Initiates Supervisory Debate on Kocani Tragedy
Levica MP Borislav Krmov said at today’s press conference that as an MP from the third constituency, he initiated an oversight debate on the tragedy in Kocani in order to clarify all omissions.
– At these moments when the shock of the unimaginable national disaster that took place in Kocani, we as MPs and as an Assembly, especially the IE 3 MPs, must also bear moral responsibility. Therefore, today, I, as an MP from EU 3, I launch an initiative to oversee the Assembly over the disaster that happened to us in Kocani. We call all parties. This initiative will be submitted to all other parties today. We expect support – he said.
Krmov informs that this debate is planned to be held in the Permanent Inquiry Committee on Freedoms and Citizen Rights that Dimitar Apasiev is headed.
-But we are open to any other commission that responds to the government and the rest of the opposition. This requires a minimum of 15 signatures and we give our six. We open space to have an Inquiry Committee, there is a permanent Inquiry Committee in which the debate can be held, but there is also a temporary inquiry commission. In that case we will refer to Article 76 paragraph 3 of the Constitution, which requires twenty signatures and absolutely, it is not important for us to lead the process, the point is to start now and immediately to get the answers we need – Krumov explained.
The Left MP thinks there is no time to rest, but, as he said, it should act as soon as possible.
-Unfortunately, we see that VMRO-DPMNE and SDSM are in the media, over oversight or poll, whether there should be, or not, whether for other disasters, whether for Kocani, etc. We think there is no time for this, we have been resting enough time, it needs to be acting as soon as possible. You have to see where the state administration organs failed, why what happened to us and which individuals are responsible – MP Krmov said.
Regarding the DUI initiative to establish an Inquiry Committee on Selective and Unilateral Access to the Judicial System in the treatment of the tragedy in Kocani, Krmov emphasized that it has not yet been delivered to lawmakers.
-As far as I understand, they submitted her in an archive with an insufficient number of signatures and I assume that President Gashi has also rejected it with 16 signatures, and we need 20. We should see the initiative first. And on the other hand, unfortunately in the media what in the media I heard, too, too inclining to give an ethnic dimension to the whole situation, which at this point is absolutely unnecessary and unworthy – said Krmov.
