Letter to the editor. Take warning for a disaster at the central seriously

The fact that the disputed bus terminal in Katarina Mountain at Slussenbygget will cause serious security problems, it has been reported extensively. But now politicians apparently want to expose us who live here, and those who visit the capital, for even more and serious risks with the construction of the mastodont project « Centralstaden » at the Central Station in Stockholm.

In an internal document, the County Administrative Board has assessed that the construction, with an over -covering of the railroad tracks and large buildings on top of the cover, would mean « a risk picture that has not been handled in modern Swedish community planning before ». Since trains with dangerous goods are to pass in the planned tunnels, an accident could lead to over 10,000 people killed, according to the county administrative board (DN 23/5).

Since the proposal is out on a consultation remit, there is still time for responsible politicians to absorb this horrible scenario, which absolutely must not occur.
