Letter to the editor. SVT should require the vote in Eurovision being examined

As a 10-year-old, I fell handless for the Eurovision Song Contest. I was drawn to the colors, music and dances and learned everything about the competition. My family had to be quiet many times when I was rabbing a year for any contribution that was long forgotten. Throughout the years I loved how strange Eurovision was. I felt at home there.

It was so beautiful to see the flags wiped under the flag parade each final. However different we were, politically and culturally, there was a place where we could gather.

Especially during the past two years, this view has faded. We see how Israel performs with peace ballads, while the genocide in Gaza takes place in real time. We see how countries give the highest score to Israel, so they almost win. The Spanish and Flemish TV companies (RTE and VRT respectively) therefore require a « Review of the Eurovision vote ».

It’s time That SVT follows them. Sweden also gave the highest viewer voices to Israel, and we cannot stand silent and watch.

Israel’s endless advertising campaigns combined with the fact that you can vote as much as 20 times testify to a major system error. Therefore, SVT must also require that this investigation is actually made by the European Radio and TV Union EBU.

I still have a lot of love for this competition, because a strange individual that I have a safe place. And I am angry that Israel repeatedly jeopardizes the future of this competition. Crime against humanity has no place on stage and we have to do everything we can to show our resistance.
