Letter to the editor. SJ has to fix the wifiet so that it is possible to work on the train

It always starts the same. You sit on the train, look up the computer and feel a little proud to have chosen a climate -smart means of transport. « Now it’s going to work, » you think. And then you click on Wifit.

Three charging spins later hope to self -negotiation. « If I just get this email … then I can wait for the rest to Norrköping. »

Twenty minutes later you sit and write drafts in Notepad. It is no longer a job pass – it is a character test. And this affects us all. Sooner or later everyone stares straight into the existential void that is SJ’s wifi.

And sure – It’s a small thing on the whole. But a country that has managed to build electric power transfer throughout Norrland should reasonably be able to stream a document south of Mjölby.

We do not need 6G, AI or quantum computers. We just need it to work. Stable. All the way.

The train journey has the potential to be a fantastic work environment. Quiet. Beautiful. A rolling Flow State (When you are engulfed by an activity and go beyond their reflective self -awareness while gaining a deep sense of control). All that is required is that the connection to reality does not disappear every time you blink.

And maybe Is this exactly where the insight is: that the future is not just about new ideas, but about making SJ’s wifi work.

So here is a concrete proposal for SJ and the Swedish Transport Administration: Make Tågwifi a priority infrastructure issue!

For the climate. For productivity. And for the soul.
