Israel’s crime against international law has been going on for several months and the Swedish government has been silent. Just a week ago, the Foreign Minister refused to say that Israel commits international law. Only now when starvation and people’s expulsion are becoming a reality does the government understand that it is starting to stand alone with its silence. Rarely has « late should the sinner wake up » fit better than this time on the government’s misunderstanding to criticize Israel.

How come Sweden, part of the EU governments and DN’s leadership writers Now suddenly supports a review of the EU association agreement with Israel? Why now, after over 19 months of apocalyptic suffering for the Palestinians? Could it have anything to have US senators and President Donald Trump began to express criticism of the Israeli warfare in Gaza? Israel’s control of the Hamas terrorist group received criticism from human rights organizations, experts on terrorist control, and some politicians already during the first week of the Gaza war in September 2023. Requirements for EU sanctions should have been set already then, no matter what the United States thought. Sweden and Europe must dare to act more independently for the degree of violence for which the Israeli government is responsible. And this also applies to the leadership writers at Sweden’s largest and maliest daily newspaper.

Has good friends living in Amman. Both parents are born in the present Israel. Their families went freely around Israel and neighboring countries during their growing up time. The favorite was to go to Beirut and swim. One day 1948, aircraft threw down notes in Arabic that they would take place a military exercise and there would be buses and retrieve all. They would only bring what they needed for a few days. They never had to come back. The Israelis took over their house, equipment and land. 2025 Israel spreads horror in Gaza and is still letting down messages that they are moving. The Israelis destroy the entire infrastructure, starve people, bomb hospitals, schools and tent camps. All under the mantra there were Hamas people there. No evidence is shown. This is nothing but genocide to get Gaza’s land areas. And we are watching! Was anyone thinking that this would happen in 1948?

Reply to Anders Nordlund (Noted on May 19): To load Britain because with negotiations with Nazi Germany tried to avoid war, only the one that has been in hand. When Germany attacked Poland in 1939, Britain and France declared immediate war. Churchill motivated the declaration of war with Nazi Germany’s barbarism, terror and atrocities having to be defeated. Per-Albin instead described the world situation as a « superpower conflict » that did not affect Sweden. Whatever analyzes Sweden’s position, the fact remains that Sweden handed over in other countries to defeat Nazi Germany through incredible victims. If, for Sweden, it was a reasonable and well -balanced decision is another issue.

It’s nice to Journalist Joakim Medin Has escaped the prison in Turkey and had to come home to Sweden. But what does the government do to journalist and writer Dawit Isaak Should come home from Eritrea? What is being done to the Swedish citizen and researcher Ahmadreza Djalali should be released in Iran? And what is being done to the Swedish book publisher Gui Minhai Should be released in China? It is obvious that the « silent diplomacy » did not work in these cases. Are we so cowardly in this country?
Kjell Forsström, Råsunda

Ida Ljung claims on DN’s submitter page that reduced penalties and child prisoners are contrary to the Convention on the Rights of the Child. But Article 37 states: « No child may be illegally or arbitrarily deprived of their freedom. The gripping, arrest, arrest, captivating or other detention of a child shall be done in accordance with law and may only be used as a last resort and for the shortest appropriate time. » And: « In particular, every child’s child should be kept separate from adults ». Thus, the Convention on the Rights of the Child does not seem to have a problem with imprisoning criminal children, and as soon as possible, child prisoners.

What a fortune that the Swedish grant with the group Kaj did not win the Eurovision Song Contest Last Saturday! Now maybe Sweden’s Television can afford some new programs and we will avoid all reprises.

Concerning Johan Croneman’s chronicle About SVT1’s investment in Eurovision Song Contest last Saturday, I want to perform an eloge to SVT2, which the same evening sent two programs about the fantastic conductor Joanna Mallwitzen. Thanks for a nice evening!

Opinions about DN

It couldn’t be said better! Bear af kleen’s analysis Of Trump’s and Putin’s statements after the conversation the two had on Monday a joy to read! His occasional rageful and sarcastic tone when he pits Trump’s contentless statements and reads essentials between the lines on Putin’s ditto becomes « spot on ». Good! Really want to recommend all DN readers to read AF Kleen’s text. It is written by a true language equilibrium.

IN A chronicle Alex Schulman expresses his great puzzle that Finns top the surveys on the world’s happiest people year after year. « Every Finn I meet looks so unhappy, » Schulman regrets and describes a number of meetings with Finnish culture. Among other things, his father has brought home Memma from Finland when he was a child. It did not taste good at all. Schulman has also been sitting in a sauna where people were not carved to converse. With the bullying’s lightweight rabbit Radar Schulman up personal anecdotes that will prove the image of a gloomy and nausea people – a people who have been depressed ever since « they sat in the caves ». That he is given room for this cultural hierarchical svada is distressing, even a bit weird. The image of the Finn as a mourning hermit, inferior in its strange, may be a result of Schulman’s lack of access to the multifaceted shades of Finnish culture. It is probably a result of lack of openness and curiosity to the Finnish, especially the language. Anyone who takes off badly from Schulman’s exposition can still find some consolation in the fact that the only common denominator in all these meetings with unhappy Finns is Schulman himself.
Matilda Hellman, Professor of Sociology, Uppsala

Too many mix the concepts « to deal with » and « get over ». Unfortunately, « come to over » or « overcome » far too often, apart a text on the submitter side on May 20. Language Users – Think before!

Speaking of Susanne Nyström’s leader in DN May 20: Is it the question of some kind of « set -off process » about who made the most less successful recruitments both right and left or ..? Maybe there are more important things to get hold of right now.
Lena Flisager, Skogås
