Letter to the editor. Minister shows that the words of cohesion do not apply
A few weeks after proud words have been said from the government that in Sweden we believe in all people- after the massacre in Örebro in people with immigrant background- visited on Thursday's labor market and integration minister Mats Persson (L) the police in the Stockholm suburb Rinkeby.
On Instagram, he posted a picture where he posed with bister my, protective vest and war rhetoric « Police who are prepared every day to sacrifice (sic!) Their lives for us ».
Rinkeby is used quite often by right -wing politicians as something basic, where people are separated from all individuality and become a scary mass. With his post, Mats Persson does not signal that the government believes in all people in Sweden, but instead marks a distance.
But also in Rinkeby Makes people completely everyday things: eating, working, jogging and posting silly self -glorifying images on social media.
Perhaps Mats Persson should also go to a workplace in, for example, the construction industry, where people also risk their lives every day, due to poor working conditions and greed.
He does not need a protective vest there, but common sense, empathy, curiosity and a helmet.
But no one should Expected to go to his job with the attitude that today I am prepared to sacrifice my life – not even a police officer.
To reduce the risk of such, a society is needed where we really believe in all people and where politicians and authorities show it in action and not just in words.
