The government is moving on with the plans for new nuclear power, despite the experts’ advice. The cost of hundreds of billions will largely be paid for by taxpayers, despite the energy giants’ annual multibillion gains. There is apparently no end to these politicians’ simplicity and hybris.

We have voted referendum once and decided that nuclear power should be discontinued as the works serve. The waste issue is not resolved and new works in the distant future are unreasonably expensive. It is doubtful whether there is realism in new nuclear power. In addition, it would be interesting to do a round issue among the municipalities about who is interested in a nuclear power plant. It should reasonably be located in southern Sweden where the electricity shortage is greatest and the electricity price is highest. Due to the need for cooling water, it should well be sealed. Best location would be good Barsebäck where a lot of infrastructure already exists. But maybe there will be problems with Denmark, which helped the Barsebäcksverket to be closed once in a while. The proximity to Denmark probably excludes this route along the Sound. But further north, the Bjäre Peninsula and up Halmstad, Landskrona, Varberg? Then we have the east coast. In Oskarshamn is already one, but Kalmar, Mörbylånga on Öland, Karlskrona and Österlen? In the hometown of Sölvesborg, Jimmie Åkesson and SD were able to go to the brink for some reactors. The unpolitical officials in the Government Offices produce factual evidence for the political decisions and do what is determined. Political decisions must be based on facts and values, but those who prepare and implement the decisions strive to be objective and do not follow a certain political orientation. Therefore, it should not matter what political view the unpolitical officials have.
