Letter to the editor. Iron « Unna » from the Swedish Academy’s glossary

The absolute ugliest word in Swedish is « Unna ». There is something Lutheran about what has now gained the meaning, that in order to enjoy a little while you have to whip first. For example, my brother and four friends go a mile on Wednesdays and then sit on a bar and take two bottle beer, which is carefully documented in their personal « what have I tested for beer » books.

The same goes for people who eat bran. How can you stop warm disgusting cream with tasteless watery bread and marzipan? But in order to go to a cafe and eat scrapbook, it must also be associated with some kind of suffering first.

For me this is Like they have to show their wives that it is not about meeting friends and drinking moderate amounts of beer, but it should be preceded by something « useful » that the wives can agree with. They themselves think they may be good with exercise, but they can do it alone on Thursdays instead.

This word, which in itself is a denial of pleasure, is the worst word found in Swedish. It should be removed from the Swedish Academy’s glossary and banned as the most magnificent idiot word ever invented.
