Letter to the editor. Adapt AFA Insurance to Height retirement age

At the Saltsjöbad agreement in 1938, the social partners formed the company AFA (the labor market insurance company). There are several insurance policies at AFA, including something called « AGB Departure grants » for employees, which can be paid out when, for example, a company closes to move abroad.

To qualify for it, you must, among other things, have been employed for a certain period of time and worked for a certain number of years and also be 40 years old, but you must not have reached the age of 65 when you finish the work on the basis of termination.

Previously, 65 years were the holy retirement age, but for some time it is called « target age ». It is now 67 years old, but will be raised to 68 years 2027.

I myself am 65 years old And five months when the company strikes again for relocation abroad and is therefore without AGB with a five-month margin on the wrong side of the 65-year line. I will therefore need a new job for the time until the new target age of 68 years.

At 65 and a half years with a worn body, you are hardly a first choice for most employers.

This will hit Many in the future. Why don’t the social partners want these insurance policies to follow the target age for everyone who can see their retirement age advanced?
