Less people in a homeless situation in Lisbon
The number of homeless people in the city of Lisbon went down 7.6% in 2024, at the end of last year of 3,122. There is also a 20% decrease in 20% of those who had no ceiling.
The data are contained in the latest balance of the Warning Planning and Intervention Center (NPISA), which is referenced on December 31, 2024 and released this Wednesday.

On the sidelines of a visit to the municipal unit for the use and autonomy of the person in a situation of homeless Marvila, in the eastern area of Lisbon, the mayor, said that « the number of people homeless descended from 548 to 439, representing a 20%decrease. »
« These are good numbers, obviously it is not enough, I do not feel satisfied, no one can feel satisfied when there are still people in this situation, » said Carlos Coins.
According to the Lusa agency, the mayor said that he currently turned « to the levels of before the pandemic », noting that this reflects the plan made in the city, which went « to withdraw tents and to be able to give a roof to many people who did not have. »
Carlos Coins highlighted the implementation of the municipal plan for the person in a homeless person, which provides for an investment of 70 million euros in seven years, between 2024 and 2030, recalling the increase in reception vacancies from 800, when it arrived four years ago to 1,200.
