Legendary David Attenboro Fulls 99 years and sends a message ‘which never before’ – BBC News in Serbian
David Attenboro launches, as he says, one of the most important films in his career, while he enters a hundred years.
He believes that his new film « Ocean » could play a key role in preserving biodiversity and protecting planets from climate change.
« After almost 100 years on the planet, now I understand that the most important place on earth is not on land, but in the sea, » says Atenboro who will charge the 99 years.
The ocean is a planet support system and the greatest ally of humanity against climate disaster, it is said in the film.
The film shows how world oceans are at the crossroads.
The blue carpet will be placed on the film premiere at the Royal Festival Holly 8. May, just on the birthday of the legendary naturalist.
It is expected to attend many well-known persons, including Kris Martin from the ColdPlay group and actor Benedikt Kamemberbač.
« This is not a typical Attenboro’s film and discovering completely new behaviors in nature. More importantly than that is the message it transmits, » says Tobi Noulan, the producer « Ocean ».
The film documents how the state of world’s oceans changed and our understanding of their functioning during Attenborhood.
Attenboro remembers the first diving on a large coral reef of 1957. Years.
« I was so astonished with the scene before me I forgot to breathe for a moment, » he says.
Since then, there has been a catastrophic fall of life in world oceans.
« We almost ran out of time, » he warns.
The « ocean » contains some of the shots of damage that the roots per bottom, the usual practice of fishermen around the world, can cause sea bottom.
It is a vivid example of how industrial fishing can exhaust the life from the world’s oceans, claims atenboro.
The new material shows how the chain that hauls are searching for searches the seabed, driving upset creatures in the network.
Brakes often hunt one type – more than three-fourths of what catches often reject.
« It’s hard to imagine a more expensive way of fishing, » Attenboro’s commented.
This way of fishing releases and huge amounts of carbon dioxide that contributes to heating the planet, but the fishing at the bottom of many governments actively encourage.
Attenboro says that the state of the ocean almost made him lose hope in the future of life on the planet.
From despair, it saved what he calls « the most significant discovery of all » – that the ocean can « recover faster than we ever imagined ».
He adds that the story of whales for him was a source of huge optimism.
It is estimated that only in the 20th century, 2.9 million whales were killed.
Scientists said that was the largest killing of any animal in history when measured in the context of the total biomass.
It has almost all types of whales led to the verge of extinction.
Only one percent of the blue whales remained, says Atenboro.
« I remember thinking it was. There was no return, we lost big whales, » he says.
But in 1986. Legislators have lifted under pressure from public and forbidden commercial whales around the world.
The population of whales have recovered quickly since.
‘Not all lost’
Key Attenbor’s message in the film « Ocean » is not all lost.
Governments promised to protect the third oceans.
He hopes that his new film will encourage world statesmen to take solid actions related to this promise at the UN conference next month.
Believes it could be transformative.
« The ocean can go back to life.
« If you leave alone, may not only recover, but will progress more than anyone alive ever saw, » Attenboro says.
A healthier ocean ecosystem could also ‘capture’ more carbon dioxide, helping protect the world from climate change, according to scientists.
« There is a chance before us to protect our climate, our food, our home, » Atenboro.
One of the film director, Kit Soli, is working with Attenbor for 44 years.
« When I first met David, I was in short trousers, » he joked.
This was in 1981, two years after Attenboro resigned at the BBC Program Place, one of the highest positions in the Corporation.
Despite the fact that 99. years old, Attenboro is still extremely energetic, says Soli.
« Every time you work with David, learn something new.
« It’s really fun. But also, David keeps you in shape, because he is in such a fit that it is a very creative process », says Soli.
While this week celebrates 99. Birthday, Sir David Attenborough is still struggling to protect the natural world.
He just tried all his life to show people that world in his full glory.
