Within the framework of Museums Week activities, a mining museum was opened in Lefke.

Organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, the Lefke Museum is located in the historical building known as Vasıf Palas at Lefke Bazaar Center.

The opening speech of the ceremony was organized due to the opening of the museum, Emine Ziba, Director of the Department of Antiquities and Museums. Ziba stated that they are working in order to shed light on the future and to protect cultural heritage and emphasized that the largest vehicle is museums in the protection and continuity of cultural heritage. Lefke Mayor Aziz Kaya explained that various project works have been carried out since 2014 in order to bring Lefke a museum and expressed his pleasure to bring such a museum to Lefke.

Deputy Prime Minister, Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Minister Fikri Ataoğlu said that they are working with the aim of spreading tourism to 12 months throughout the island and bringing a museum to each district.
