Latvian record holder Jois sets a record 10km around Cesis, women’s first in the intense battle Ukrainian / Day

Āboliņš pointed out that the organizers were heavily trying to provide runners with the opportunity to run against their own purposes. Co -organizer Kristīne Vilcāne emphasized that participants were able to experience a real jogging festival, but longtime supporter Ansis Kuplis pointed out that « around Cesis » is an event to prove it and meet to enjoy positive emotions and accumulate energy for everyday race.
As in previous years, this time in this favorite race, where the number of participants again exceeded four hundred, several of the strongest Latvian runners participated in this time, which this time was joined by some fast runners from Ukraine, continuing to give this race international importance. Thanks to the Specific, which is a high -quality animal feed, a cash prize pool for the first six for women and men was 10km, as well as traditionally the first three in all eight (!) Youth age groups in 5km.
For men, Ugis Johis celebrated a 10km convincing victory with a two -minute lead last year, divorce from a record -breaking honor, which was taken for one year by Dmitry Serjogin, but this year he regained it as the first relief 10km on the « Around Cesis ». As a result, a multiple Latvian champion from Kuldiga also received EUR 100 for an additional winner of EUR 100 for a record. Now Jocim and Serjogin have two wins.
In the equivalent battle for second place at the beginning of the two month, Robert Glazers, the titled Clover’s debuted by the winner of the Stirnu Buka, a little moved away in the middle of the last lap and overtook another Latvian companion medalist Kristaps Wind Abolina by 16 seconds.
For women after the first lap, Sandra Grosberg, the multiple Latvian champion, was in the lead, but in the second lap she began to stab side, resulting in a top ten in the World and European Championships in the top ten Cēsis slipped to second place, leading Ukrainian Veronika Kalashnikov in 37 minutes. Oshina is the third fastest result. Junior champion Marta Louise Petersone, who finished in fourth place last year, who also won a couple of gold in the national championship in the adult group, also becoming a record holder for « Around Lielezer », also made the distance faster than 38 minutes and secured 3rd place.
Janis Žagars, a representative of Aluksne Sports School, won two gold in the U18 Latvian Championship, won the second year in a row, becoming the only one to do so in the renovated « around Cesis » in one of the two longest in the distance. Marta Livchane, on the other hand, was the winner of the winners for the first time in the Latvian Championships in the U18 Group this year in the Latvian Championships in the U18 Championship. At the beginning of the month, the two won the Latvian Run Championship in the U18 group « Stirnu Buka » for pupils, but on Saturday both reached the fastest times in the 5km distance « Around Cesis » – 16:08 and 18:31 respectively.
Just like last year, this year, the adult group was second to the men, this time with Girts Vilumov (Matison Running Club), who was third in the Squirrel three weeks ago in the « Stirnu Buk » behind the Glazer and Stankēvica. This year’s Latvian champion in U16 group 800m and 2000m Arthur Madelan finished. The women’s performance was shown by Asnate Caune, Valmiera, finishing second, while Una Perkone, who earned a bronze in the national premises of the U16 group, finished third.
In the team class, where there were three participants, one woman, one of the women with Kristaps Varna and two Ukrainians-Vitaly Kuznetsov and Veronica Kalashnikov, were a bit ahead of Kristaps Vēja-Āboliņš, Raitis Jirgenson and Martha Louise Petersone. Stable third place for Valmiera Lūsis, Stulpinksim and Jacobson.
