Latvian hockey players with a match against Slovakia continue to fight for the quarter -finals / day
Subgroup A Match « Avicii » will begin at 9.20 pm Latvian time. The World Championship matches are broadcast live on LTV7 and the Latvian Public Media website « lsm.lv ».
Prior to this group, another quarter -final applicant Austria with Slovenia will play in this group. In Sub -Group B, Herning will be the first match of Kazakhstan and the United States, and then Hungary and Switzerland.
Latvian hockey players won the first four games with a loss of 4: 1, with a 1: 7 loss to Canada, a 5: 2 defeated Slovenia and a 0: 6 victory over Sweden. The game with the Finns showed close resistance, but lost by 1: 2.

In Subgroup A, Sweden is the leader with 18 points in six games, with 15 points in five games, Finland 11 points, seven, six and five points for Slovakia, Latvia and Austria, one point in six battles by France and Slovenia without points.
Czech Republic ranks first with 14 points in five games, 13 points for Switzerland and 11 points in the US. Germany and Denmark scored nine points in five and six matches, with Hungary and Kazakhstan three points, but Norway has one point.
16 teams are divided into two groups, eight teams each, with a round tournament. The top four teams in each group will continue their fight for medals in the quarterfinals, but the weakest teams in both groups will leave the strongest division, and will be replaced by Britain and Italy next year.
The World Championship in Herning, Denmark and the Swedish capital, Stockholm, will end next weekend. Group B games and two quarter -final matches will take place in Herning, while Stockholm will also host two quarter -final duties, semi -final games and medals.
Last year, the Czechs triumphed in the World Championships in their field, beating Switzerland in a decisive match with a 2-0 win, while Sweden won the bronze medals with a 4: 2 win over the Canadian national team. The Latvian national team ranked ninth, although he won four wins in the sub -group.
