Latvian hockey players lose hard for Austria and will not play / day in the quarterfinals

Latvian hockey players started the second period more actively, after a strong shot by Ralph Freiberg from the blue line puck with a shoulder to repel Kikert. The shot was also for the Latvian national team (5: 1).

However, in the 24th minute, Freiberg stopped Luke Caincine with an unauthorized technique and earned two penalty minutes.

Austria needed 17 seconds in the majority to score 2-0 and scored for the first time in the championship. After Marko Casper’s pass from the middle of the area, Benjamin Baumgartner hit the top corner of the empty goal. Gudlevsky could not move in the goal.

After this goal, the Latvian team remained the only one in the championship, which had not yet scored.

Another mistake in passing along the blue line in the opponent’s area, performed by Rudolf Balcer, allowed him to fly against Gudlevsky Rorer and send the puck into the top corner of the goal – 3: 0. Balcers scored Rorer, but could not hinder scoring.

After the third goal loss, the head coach of the Latvian national team Harry Vitolins demanded a half -minute break.

In the 29th minute, Ločmelis flown the Austrian national team to the left and scored Eduard Tralmak, who sent a puck in the far corner of the goal – 1: 3 from the right hill without stopping the puck.

In the 31st minute, Oscar Batna violated the rules against Luke Haud and received two penalty minutes.

In the second half of the period, Martin Lavins suffered a minor injury after a shot, but the referee, who was side by side, was classified as a fight for the puck and did not give the Austrian player a rejection.

In the 18th minute, Christian Rubin fell in the Austrian area after a fight against the counter, but Gudlevsky stopped the Austrian attack on one defender.

Also in the second period, Latvia (9: 8) made a little more shots.

After Haudum’s rejection of the opponent in the 43rd minute, the Latvian team repeatedly threatened the Austrian goal, but Casper was also shot from a close distance, with Gudlevsky repelling the puck.

In the 45th minute after the puck, Jānis Jaks and Kristaps Zīle were the first to get to the Latvian national team, with the puck from the jacket’s stick in front of the goal at Peter Schneider, after which Thomas Rafl was scored on the left corner of the goal.

In the 48th minute, Latvia was in the majority, Harald Egle hit the goal post from the middle of the area, but failed to score.

In an effort to attack, the Latvian national team strikers stayed behind the Austrian national team, when the Austrians reached 5: 1 in a quick attack in the 53rd minute. After Schneider’s pass, Cvergers hit the puck in the top corner, scoring his second goal in the game.

In the 57th minute, Timo Nikl earned a two -minute rejection, Gudlevsky was replaced with a sixth player on the field, but in the biathlon, Rorer overtook Ločmeli, scoring his second goal of 6: 1 for Austria.

Batna earned the rejection at the last minute for holding the opponent, but the result remained no longer.

In Group A, the leader with 18 points in six games is Sweden, 16 and 13 points have been scored by Canada and Finland, respectively, providing all three in the quarterfinals. Nine points in six games are for Latvia, seven for Austria and Slovakia, while in seven games, four points are for Slovenia and one point for France.

The rest of Tuesday’s Group A match at Avicii Arena in Stockholm at 5:20 pm, Finland will play with Slovakia and Sweden with Canada at 21.20. In Group B in Herning, Switzerland meets Kazakhstan on Tuesday, followed by the Czech Republic with the US and Germany with Denmark. The World Championship matches are broadcast live on LTV7 and on the Latvian Public Media website « lsm.lv ».

In Group B, the Czech Republic has 17 points, 16 points for Switzerland, 14 in the United States, but for Germany and Denmark nine points. Norway has four points in seven battles, while Hungary is three points in seven and Kazakhstan in six games.

Latvian hockey players beat France by 4: 1, lost to Canada by 1: 7, defeated Slovenia by 5: 2, defeated the Swedish team by 0: 6 and defeated Slovakia by 5: 1.

The Austrians lost to Finland with a 1: 2 loss to Sweden with a 2: 4 win in Slovakia by 3: 2, capitulated to Canada by 1: 5, beat France by 5: 2 and won Slovenia by 3: 2.

16 teams are divided into two groups, eight teams each, with a round tournament. The top four teams in each group will continue their battle for medals in the quarterfinals, but the weakest teams in both groups will leave the strongest division, and will be replaced by Britain and Italy next year.

The World Championship in Herning, Denmark and the Swedish capital, Stockholm, will end next weekend. Group B games and two quarter -final matches will take place in Herning, while Stockholm will also host two quarter -final duties, semi -final games and medals.

Last year, the Czechs triumphed in the World Championships in their field, beating Switzerland in a decisive match with a 2-0 win, while Sweden won the bronze medals with a 4: 2 win over the Canadian national team. The Latvian national team ranked ninth, although he won four wins in the sub -group.
