Latvian athletes / day wins in the International Art Gymnastics Race in Daugavpils

The « Daugavas Loki » tournament took place in Daugavpils for the eighth time and this year there was a total of 253 participants in nine sports classes and 22 groups, depending on the age of the participants and the subjects used. Gymnasts from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Poland participated in the race.

« We are very proud of the achievements of Latvian gymnasts, both in Latvian races and international tournaments such as » Daugava Loki « . The large number of participants this year shows that sports support is vital for our youth to develop and compete outside Latvia, » says Lubov Lazdane, representative of Daugavpils company SMD Baltic. The company has been financially supporting the competition for three years.

Latvian athletes won 19 groups and represented both the local Daugavpils Gymnastics Center and the clubs from all over Latvia, including « Riga Gymnastics School », « Tukums Sports School », « Olaine Sports Center » and others. In two more groups, the winners were the Lithuanian from the sports clubs « Viesulas » and « Startas », but in one group – Estonian gymnast from the club « Irina Kikkasse Võimlemisklubi ».
