Latvia in the first quarter between ten EU countries with employment fall / day
The decline in employment in the first quarter was still recorded in Romania (-4.4%), Estonia (-1.1%), Poland (-1%), Finland (-0.9%), Sweden and Slovenia (both countries -0.5%), Slovakia (-0.2%), as well as in France and Germany (-0.1%).
The number of employees in Austria has remained at the level of January-March last year, while the other 16 increase in the number of employees registered in the EU Member States.
The fastest growth in Malta (+3.5%), Ireland (+3.3%), Croatia (+2.9%) and Spain (+2.7%) in the last quarter. The number of employees in Lithuania increased by 0.8%in annual terms.
EU employment in the first quarter was 0.4% higher than a year ago, but a 0.7% rise in the eurozone.
On the other hand, this figure remained stable in the first quarter compared to the last quarter of last year, but increased by 0.2%in the eurozone.
The number of employees in the quarter was registered in 11 EU Member States. The fastest it was in Romania (-2.1%), Estonia (-0.8%), Lithuania and Poland (both countries -0.6%), and in Latvia (-0.5%).
In Austria, Hungary and Germany, it has remained unchanged, but the number of employees in 13 countries has increased compared to the quarter. The fastest rise was in Croatia (+1%), Spain (+0.8%), as well as in the Czech Republic, Greece, Italy and Ireland (+0.7%in all countries).
