India suspended visas for Pakistani citizens, reduced the number of Pakistani diplomats, closed the border crossing and suspended the 1960 water division agreement, which were respected even when they were in the war.

These are one of the greatest crises in the history of India and Pakistan, because Indians and leaders of the ruling party call for military action against the eastern neighbor.

Controversial territory

Islamabad and New Delhi share the Kashmir region, but both countries are in full. New Delhi describes all militant activities in Kashmir as a terrorism that supports Pakistan. Pakistan denies it, and many Muslim citizens consider militants a key part of the fight for freedom.

The Muslim population is seeking unification with Pakistan, Hindu with India, and there is a third party that wants independence. It is a Muslim population in the Indian part of Jamua and Kashmir.

Most of the Muslim population in the area want greater autonomy or complete independence neither with India nor with Pakistan. They are led by the front for the liberation of Jamua and Kashmir (JKLF).

Fought four great wars

India and Pakistan have found themselves in numerous discussions and territorial pretensions because of the British Empire. With many smaller conflicts, the two countries have led four major wars to date in 1947, 1965, 1971 (Genocide in Bangladesh) and 1999.

It was Kashmir that in 1947 was the cause of the first conflict between the two modern nations.
