Large and small issues of French author Joan Sfara’s comic little vampire / day
Three stories about the adventures of the little vampire are a selection of French author Joan Sfara’s seven comic book series, also taken in his directed animation film – horror comedy Petit vampire (2020). The heroes of the comics are vampires and ghosts that are hidden from the human world. However, a small vampire who is able to fly and turn into a bat, a rat or a wolf wants to go to school and learn with ordinary children. Despite his family’s bans, he manages to make friends with boy Michel, who is doing homework at night when school is empty. This friendship is gradually connecting the secret and normal world.
Joan Sfar (Joann Sphar1971) is a French writer, a comic book artist and film director, one of the French-Belly Comic Comic Arts in the 1990s New Wave. He was born in Nice, lost his mother early, and he was raised by his father, Andrew Sphar, a lawyer known for the neo-Nazi trial, and his grandfather, a war-born in Ukraine, who during World War II, fighting in a separate Elzas-Lotring brigade saved his commander of Andrew Malro. Grandfather’s features were assigned to one of the comic characters, who is familiar with the little vampire – the grandfather of the boy Michelle. There are many witty references to the Jewish and French cultural heritage in the sphere comics.
Elīna Brasliņa (1988) is a well -known artist, book illustrator and author of picture books, International Janis Baltvilks Awards and National Book Art Awards Golden apple tree The winner, who has also made widespread success internationally. Books with Elina’s illustrations can be read in more than 50 languages worldwide. But Elina is also a sensitive translator who studied French philology at the University of Latvia and France. She is well aware of the nuances and capabilities of the visual and text language.

Books The little vampire Issuing is part of the project implemented by the publishing house Children’s Europe, who received support in the EU program Creative Europe. During this project, 15 books will be translated and published in Latvian.
