The Ukrainian and US sides have compiled a list of conditions for the end of the war, which includes 22 « very concrete actions » – US President Donald Trump’s special envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, told Ukraine.
– Ukrainians have not liked all the conditions, but no one will like the final attitude you will take. That’s okay when you have negotiations. But we’re in a pretty good position with them, « Kellogg told Fox News.
Responding to a statement by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov that Russia would win the war against Ukraine, Kellogg said it did not respond to reality.
– The Russian Federation will not win this war. Russia has not made any progress in the last year and a half. They lost hundreds of thousands of soldiers, progressing in meters, not kilometers. And the Ukrainians are fighting fiercely on their territory. So when the Russian Federation says it wins, that’s not the case – Kellogg said.
He estimated that Russia should « recognize the change of circumstances », that is, that Ukraine, according to him, is good, that European partners are strengthening and forming new forces without the help of the United States.
« They are now ready to increase their support for Ukraine if needed, » Kellogg said.
As he stated, the war will not end « military », but only diplomatically.
« Ukrainians now understand this very well, and the Russians should understand it, » Kellogg added.
