KTTO President Deniz to Eit: Invest in Northern Cyprus – Cyprus Newspaper
Turgay Deniz, President of the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce (KTTO) and the accompanying delegation attended the Palandöken Economy Forum in Erzurum, which was declared by the Organization of Economic Cooperation (EIT) in Erzurum. The forum, which was realized with the theme of “Egalismist Future in a Smart World: Smart Economies and Global Inequality”, shared their opinions and suggestions by joining ministers, diplomats, international representatives, business people and experts.
Speaking at a special session of Palandöken Economic Forum and moderated by the President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, KTTO President Turgay Deniz drew attention to the importance of digitalization and digital transformation. Deniz emphasized that the adoption of new business models, production and marketing methods and payment systems that are changing and developing with technology are among the basic requirements of being able to do business on a global scale.
Referring to the fact that the high costs and infrastructure deficiencies of digitalization slow down the rate of digital transformation of the sectors and the economy, Deniz said that increasing the digital transformation supports for sectors and enterprises and collaborations with Turkey gained importance. Deniz stated that university students who are educated in our order can both benefit from digitalization and contribute to the developments in this field and emphasized that digital technology centers should be established for this purpose. He underlined that new regulations and organizations are needed to create environments where young people can implement their own ideas and to encourage the presence of digital services for abroad from Northern Cyprus. In his speech, Deniz also called for members of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and emphasized the importance of investing in Northern Cyprus in areas where capital and knowledge of Cypriot business people are not sufficient and emphasized that this is a critical need for our economic existence struggle. In parallel with the theme of the forum, the KTTO delegation made various evaluations and consultations with other participants about investment opportunities, regional cooperation opportunities and future targets. In addition, the KTTO delegation came together with Saim Özakılın, the President of Erzurum Chamber of Commerce and Industry within the scope of Palandöken Economic Forum Activities and evaluated possible cooperation opportunities between the two rooms.
