KTSYD determined the successes of the year – Cyprus Newspaper

KTSYD Sports Oscar Awards will find their owners.

The award ceremony of the year, organized by the Board of Directors of the Turkish Cypriot Sports Writers Association (KTSYD), will be held at the Swimming Pool at the Association Headquarters at 19.30 on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 this year.

The Board of Directors for the “Oscar Awards of Sports ği given by the KTSYD administration every year has completed the research and work and determined the names that will receive awards.

Türkiye 2nd Ecem Çeliküstün Service Award with a degree of 5.89 in long jumps: Mazhar Ikbal Choudhry

Ahmed Sami Topcan will be given the superior service award to Mazhar Ikbal Choudhry. Mazhar Ikbal, who is very popular as a benevolent business person who donates to many sectors, reaches many areas of sports, especially the China Bazaar Youth Power Sports Club. Mazhar İkbal provides the state in terms of sports facilities. Iqbal, finally, started a study to give Nicosia a indoor gymnasium.

Athlete of the Year Award: Alara Ghaffari

Mete Adanır will be given to Alara Ghaffari. Born in 2005 Famagusta, Alara Ghaffari has achieved many domestic and international successes in the billiard branch. The European Women’s Championship, which was held in 2023 in Tallin, Estonia, won a gold medal and cup in the 10 ball category. Following the championship he won at the European Women Championship in 2025, he was invited to the World Women’s 8 Top Championships to be held in Wisconsin between 2-6 July 2025 representing the European Pocket Billiard Federation.

Coach of the Year Award: Hasan Topaloğlu

Yusuf Kaptan coach of the year will be given to coach Hasan Topaloğlu in football. Topaloglu, Yenicami’de KTSYD Cup championship at the beginning of the season. He won the championship victory in the Cyprus Cup in Lefke. Topaloğlu started his coaching in Balıkesir in 1999 and never had the season he spent empty in the remaining 26 seasons. 1. Topaloğlu has been the president of the Football Coaches Association since 2022.

Referee of the Year Award: Kerem Eran

Sulhi Garan the referee of the year will be given to Kerem Eran this year. Kerem Eran, who was awarded this award for the 3rd time within the scope of KTSYD Awards, started his arbitration in 2006. In 2012, he became the top class referee. Kerem Eran, who was selected as the referee of the year in 2012 and 2019, directed a total of 35 competitions including 24 Super League, 5th League, 3 Cyprus Cup match, 1 BTM Final match and 2 Play Out match.
Omaç Başat Press Incentive Award: İbrahim Özsoy – Baran Ünalmış

KTSYD OMAÇ Başat Press Incentive Award was decided to be given to İbrahim Özsoy and Baran Ünalmış this year. At a young age, Ibrahim Özsoy and Baran Ünalmış, who served the sports press with photojournalist, journalism, interview and television programs, were awarded the Omaç Başat award.

Intelligence Özteknik Special Awards

At the Award Ceremony of the Year Award Ceremony, the owners of the special awards given traditionally on behalf of Zeka Özteknik were also determined. Zeka Özteknik Special Awards were appropriate to give the sport people to the families of sports people who serve our sport in different branches but left us at an early age. Accordingly, Zeka Özteknik Special Awards; “Champion Rallici Ömer Yıldız will be given to the families of Tolga Bahattin Kınacı and coach Tamer Zeden.
