Kostadinovski: Law on Constitutional Court is required for increased transparency and greater confidence in citizens

The President of the Constitutional Court, Darko Kostadinovski, stated that it is necessary to adopt a law on the Constitutional Court, which, according to him, will contribute to increased transparency and greater confidence to the citizens. He commented on the upcoming preparatory session on the Law on the Use of Languages, which will be held on June 19, stressing that society should not fear the court’s decisions and that it is not an attack on anyone’s rights.

Regarding the need for the Law on Constitutional Court, Kostadinovski stated in a trilling show that the constitution should be changed first, as he said, to set a two -thirds law, or the legislator to pass a constitutional law, also by a two -thirds majority.

– Benefits of the Law on Constitutional Court are more. First, the term prominent lawyer can be objectified and concretized, thus we will know who can be a constitutional judge, then the way constitutional judges are elected. I am one of those who advocates constitutional sessions to be broadcast live, there is no opportunity but all citizens to see who their constitutional judges are – said Kostadinovski.

The president of the constitutional announced that the preparatory session on the Law on Languages ​​will be held on June 19.

– On June 19 we will organize the preparatory session, after which we will need up to two months to prepare a new report and to sublimate all the opinions of all students. My assessment is that the final role will be taken after the elections – he said.

According to him, he was unnecessarily created, as he said, « so great fame by giving the ethnic and political dimensions of the court’s action. »

– My deep conviction is that at this stage of our society we have no problem in inter -ethnic relations, we have a problem with abusing inter -ethnic relations for political purposes. No one should fear our actions. No right that every citizen enjoys from our constitution will be denied. Our legal stands for any law will make the legislator make a better law – he emphasized.

Kostadinovski warned that the failure of the amendments to the Law on Electronic Communications could lead to the collapse of the security system.

– It is a topic that touches on a issue of national security. And that meta data is important for our security services – he said.

He added that he was in communication with the Speaker of Parliament, Gashi, and that he had been answered for the phase of the law.

« If the Parliament does not act in accordance with our legal stands, we have no choice, we will have to intervene, but the consequences if they arise, we do not take responsibility, » he added.

Regarding the Electoral Code, Kostadinovski said the final decision was expected at the May 14 session.

For The Hague cases, he said the case had not yet been handed over to him as a judge and that there were dilemmas in terms of access to classified data.

Asked if the halo weighed that he was politically active, Kostadinovski responded « The political decision is to nominate you, the choice is a political decision.
