With Simon Lucas, things are going in a feast. He was just patching on the red carpet at the Berlinale in the capital, now there are interview appointments in his homeland in Augsburg, then he has to go back to Cologne, to film for the broadcaster Sat.1. Two million people currently see him every working day as Basti Raichinger In « The Land Practice ». At the same time, the 24-year-old works on new songs-if he is not exactly booked as a dancer.
No wonder that Lucas is tired this morning, as he says apologetically as a greeting. For an interview, he appears in hoodie, with great black sunglasses and cap. Is he often recognized in Augsburg? « It happens, » says Lucas. Many fans, especially the younger ones, then wanted to take a photo with him. « Sometimes I am secretly photographed, it doesn't feel so good. » When he takes the sunglasses, eyes show up that are not as tired as expected. In general: he does not want to complain. It is nice to be « so busy », says the young Augsburg.

It all started with dancing, says Lucas. At the age of eight, he sees Michael Jackson and teaches himself the « Moonwalk ». He learns one choreography after the other thanks to YouTube, quickly develops a « blatant passion ». He has his first appearance on his mother's 40th birthday. Then he wants to go to the dance school, soon every afternoon after school while his friends are on the soccer field or play video games. This is followed by professional dance training and many appearances, such as with Nico Santos or Robin Schulz. At the live shows of the Casting show « The Voice Kids » Lucas is a firm ensemble as a background dancer.

When a dancer for a youth series on the channel in 2018 Nickelodeon We are looking for, Lucas tries his luck at the casting – with success. A little later he played the dancing mathness Milan in « Spotlight », a kind of « high school muscial » in German, four seasons long before he slips into the role of Basti Raichinger, the son of a main character, for « the country doctor's practice » in 2022. Since then he has been shooting in Cologne on several days a week, and he spends the rest with his family in Augsburg. « Many always think that everything works so easily-but such opportunities don't come out of nowhere, » says the 24-year-old. Behind it would be a lot of work, discipline, training. “You don't just have to be ready if there is a possibility. But also invest in your happiness. »
It becomes clear that this is not only literally meant when Lucas tells of his music. He invests the money that he earns on TV in his future as a pop star. He hires the « Land Practice » cameraman and a team to shoot music videos in Los Angeles for his first two singles. Everything for his « Dream » to make music that he has had for so long. Lucas plays the guitar, sings, experimented with music programs on the computer, with digital instruments, also learns saxophone. Until recently, he had a gig in the Le Coq in the old town of Augsburg every first Friday of the month. Every now and then he wanted to jam there, said Lucas. « A lot going on, » he says almost apologetically. Sure, after all, it is important to make a dream come true.
Actors, dancers, musicians – or simply storytellers
In his song « Good Day » published in autumn, Lucas sings and raps on the beach, tells how he is traveling with his BMX, the summer breeze conjures up beachwaves in his hair, he has a good time at Venice Beach. The sound is reminiscent of the R'n'B and hip hop from the 90s, rapper Dr. He pays homage to Dre in the song. Another location than LA was out of the question, said the Augsburg. He laughs and says: « You can't sing from Venice Beach and then turn at Lake Kuhsee. »
Lucas calls his texts that are inspired by his life « poetically and deep ». In his just published song « Moments », he addresses the fast -moving everyday life and calls for enjoying every moment. « Even if it sometimes feels like life is being braided past you, » he says in the interview. He knows this feeling only too well.
Lucas not only sees himself as an actor, dancer or musician – or everything at the same time – but as a « story plate », as storytellers. Michael Jackson was a genius in it, of course Frank Sinatra and Fred Astaire. Justin Timberlake is also a great role model. Every now and then, he says, he is compared to the singing, dancing, acting US artist, most recently by a journalist of a large daily newspaper. Maybe a little early – but who knows.
