Knife attack in Amsterdam: Several injuries, including the perpetrator
According to police, five people were injured in a knife attack in the center of Amsterdam, two of them seriously. A suspect was arrested. He was also injured, the police said. The police had corrected the number of victims several times and initially spoke of four seriously injured.
The police have not yet been able to provide any information about the exact course of the crime and a possible motive. In the evening she announced that the victims are a 19-year-old from Amsterdam, a 73-year-old woman from Belgium, a 26-year-old man from Poland as well as two Americans, a 67-year-old woman and a 60-year-old man. There was no information about the type of injuries to the victims.

Indiscriminately stabbed
The attack is said to have occurred around 3:30 p.m. in one or more streets at the DAM – the central square of the Dutch capital in front of the royal palace. Eyewitnesses reported that the alleged perpetrator apparently stabbed people indiscriminately.
According to testimonies, the suspect is a younger man with a short blond hair. According to the police, he was overwhelmed by a passer -by and then arrested by the police. He is said to have been injured on the leg.
Knife in the back of young woman
A woman reported on the radio how the alleged perpetrator stabbed a young woman in her back. She stood on a street with her bike. « The knife was still in her back, » said the witness on the radio. The alleged perpetrator then ran away quickly.

The police did not yet provide any information about the identity of the alleged perpetrator. She called on people to hand over possible videos and photos of the act. The emergency services were quickly on hand, the police reported. A rescue helicopter landed on the dam. The square was cordoned off according to the police and released after about two hours.
