KMI announces code yellow for heat, from the late afternoon also a chance of thunderstorms

The RMI warns on Friday of very warm temperatures, which can rise to 34 degrees locally. Code Geel is in force throughout the country on Friday, except on the coast. Tomorrow Geel would only remain valid in Limburg.

Today it will be the warmest in the big cities and in low -lying areas. Local temperatures around 33 to even 34 degrees are possible, especially in Flanders. In the west of West Flanders, a northern wind should keep the temperatures below 28 degrees, on the coast the mercury will not normally rise above 25 degrees. It can also be 30 degrees in the Ardennes. The day usually starts sunny, interspersed with high and stacking clouds. In the course of the afternoon, especially in the interior, the chance of some local thunderstorms rises.
Tonight and tonight it will remain soft with minima between 17 and 24 degrees. In the west, sturdy thunderstorms can pop up, possibly accompanied by a lot of precipitation in a short time, hail and gusts of wind. In the Ardennes it probably remains dry with broad clearings.
Saturday it becomes a bit cooler and only maxima of 32 degrees are expected in Limburg. In the interior it remains cloudy with later in the day a chance of a thunderstorm. On the coast it usually gets dry and free of charge in the afternoon.
Sunday Bring of showers in the morning some more precipitation, especially in the east. From the west it will be drier later and it clears up. The temperatures drop, with maxima from 18 to 23 degrees.
From Monday The sunny weather gradually returns. The temperatures then fluctuate around 25 degrees, with Maxima on Wednesday to 28 degrees in the center of the country.
