According to Goda Giedraitytė, Head of KVMT, the Situation of the present and future vision of the KVMT was presented to the Art Council: “We discussed the repertoire of the 39th season, significant changes in the theater work planning. Members of the Art Council made valuable observations and proposals. One of them is to maintain the direction of Richard Wagner at the Klaipėda Festival. We celebrate the anniversary of MK Čiurlionis

2025-not only throughout the country, but also for KVMT-for the 150th anniversary of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis. The Hommage à Čiurlionis consists of a multilayered abundance of events presenting the works of the Lithuanian genius. MK Čiurlionis Symphony and Chamber Music Concerts will be held in Western Lithuania, during which the most famous composer opuses: symphonic poem « Forest » and « Sea », Kantata for Choir and Symphony Orchestra « de Profundis », Quartet C-Moll, KVMT Symphony Orchestra.

The most important event of the year dedicated to MK Čiurlionis is the premiere of the world dance performance « Hommage à Čiurlionis ». One -act performance on April 26. 6:30 p.m. The team of Lithuanian creators – composer Arvydas Malcys and choreographer Edita Stundytė – will present the hall at the hall. And the second part will show the choreographic miniatures created by the Joint Dancers and Compose forces, inspired by the paintings and music of MK Čiurlionis. These compositions will join on August 16. In the Sculpture Park, a free event prepared by KVMT creative team – Rex mystery.

« Flying Dutchman » is replaced by Lohengrin

Klaipeda Festival is expanding its locations this year and inviting viewers to experience music in unexpected parts of the city – Klaipeda Energija territory and sculpture park. For the fifth year, the Klaipėda Festival will host fans of opera, dance and symphony music and strengthen Klaipeda city awareness in the international arena.

August 8 9:30 p.m. One of the most magnificent works of the Romantic era – Richard Wagner’s opera « Lohengrin » – performed by the KVMT Symphony Orchestra and the theater mixed choir – will be performed in the territory of Klaipeda Energija. The conductor’s console will be attended by the invited maestro Gintaras Rinkevičius, and opera soloists will appear on stage: Edgar Montvid (Lohengrin), Lauren Fagan (Elza, Australia/Great Britain), Tadas Girininkas (King Heinrich) and Evert Sooster. The opera will be accompanied by specially designed video projections and light design.

The guest of the festival is « Opeomania ». August 9 8 p.m. Sea hall features a huge popularity of Vaiva Grainytė, Lina Lapelytė and Rugilė Barzdžiukaitė Opera « Good Day! », dedicated to 10 cashiers, mall sounds and piano.

August 14 8 p.m. The Symphony Music Concert « Code MKC » is presented in the KVMT Hall. KVMT Symphony Orchestra led by chief Conductor Tomas Ambrozaitis, along with KVMT mixed choir and Klaipėda Concert Hall Choir « Aukuras », will perform the great MK Čiurlionis’ symphonic poems – « Forest », « Sea » and cantata « de profundis ». The anniversary is rich in autumn

In the autumn, KVMT will be invited to two dance premieres: KVMT Ballet Troupe Artistic Director, choreographer Gajus Žmavco’s latest composition will be presented on the dance evening « Forms », and in November the little ones will be able to immerse themselves in the performance « Panama very beautiful » by choreographer Daria Verovka.

On the occasion of the International Music Day, KVMT Symphony Orchestra, led by Chief Conductor Tomas Ambrozaitis, will be revealed by the concert « revealed secrets: Symphony of Light ». Two concerts of KVMT choir are also planned – with talented conductors Kęstutis Jakeliūnas and KVMT chief. Chormester Vladimir Konstantinov.

In the autumn, the audience will be able to enjoy seven times this year’s 200th anniversary Johann Strauss II’s operetta « Thousand and One Night », and October 10 and 11. Jerry Bock’s musical « Violinist on the Roof » will celebrate its 25th anniversary of the KVMT stage and the audience. Lithuanian Ballet will celebrate the 100th anniversary. On this occasion, KVMT dance fans will be invited to an international ballet Gala concert.

2026: For the first time in Lithuania

As mentioned above, 2026 will spread with special premieres. One of the first in the spring will be invited to the theater for the first time in Lithuania, the world -renowned musical « Mamma Mia » will be built worldwide according to the music and words of Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, a group of Catherine Johnson. The magic of the timely narrative of ABBA songs engages in the enchanting story of love, laughter and friendship, creating an unforgettable show. By the way, statistics say that Mamma Mia is shown seven times every day in the world.

2026 For the first time in October, the Baroque opera – Julius Caesar, George Friedrich Hendel, will also be born on the Lithuanian stage. Joint forces will join for its construction: Klaipeda Chamber Orchestra with invited foreign performers, Lithuanian and foreign soloists and KVMT ballet troupe. The performance director of the performance is a well -known baroque music performer and conductor Rodrigo Calveyra (Brazil). The entire creative team will be revealed soon, and the selection of soloists is scheduled for June 16 this year.
