Klaipeda people celebrated with the soldiers

On a sunny Saturday, car traffic was briefly restricted on several streets of Klaipeda, as more than 600 troops commemorated the 21st anniversary of Lithuania’s accession to NATO’s 21st anniversary on this day with a symbolic 6.6 km running.

The allies and Klaipeda people ran together, and this run reminded us of our country’s path to the Alliance. The huge column of the soldiers radiated a good mood, so it’s no wonder the passers -by waved soldiers and escorted them with smiles.

More action on the same occasion in the port city was a rainy Sunday at the Lighthouse Arena.

Military equipment, soldiers and members of the Lithuanian Riflemen’s Union, who interacted with civilians who spoke to them, were lined up here. As at similar events every time, not only men but also children were interested in military things.

The kids were interested in boarding military cars, trying to understand how the injured in the sanitary machine. This celebration for the little ones became a great opportunity to try to shoot at targets, as minors are undesirable in shooting range.

The mood was made by live music, children and the Navy Orchestra. The winners of the drawing competition « NATO – in my eyes » received awards.
