Klaipeda – Festival “Your Waves. Sustainable Future Creators Laboratory”: Ideas that turn into actions

The new festival will be distinguished by the fact that there will be no abstract reflections on global warming or excessive consumption. Instead, visitors will be invited to familiarize yourself directly with innovative, existing solutions that help to use less, reuse and recycle and discover the benefits of green energy in everyday life.

« The » Laboratory of Sustainable Future Creators « , which has become a great seaside tradition, is gaining an additional name this year – » own waves « . And a new force, as Ignitis Renewables is joining it. With the best country experience in the Laboratory, we will look for an open -air lab and I am sure we will find answers to how to be energetically smart and sustainable. We will learn from those who are able to create new things without exposure to nature, and the natural inexhaustible energy, such as the wind wind, is used for innovation, ”said Olga Žalienė, Director of the Lithuanian Maritime Museum.

The « Self -wave » program is impressive, from education and interactive demonstrations to artistic content. The festival will begin with the mystery of Klaipėda Puppet Theater « About Fish and People » – a provocative discussion of plastic pollution in the oceans. This performance, which will be the highlight of the opening of its own waves, since the premiere of 2022. has become a true theater hit.

The traditional « Laboratory of Sustainable Future Creators », which is a specialized space in Klaipeda and port city guests, will also be open throughout the day, with a specialized space where the leading Lithuanian scientific institutions, green energy companies and environmental organizations will present their innovations, discoveries and suggestions. Visitors to this space will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the innovations created by the Nature Research Center of the Research Institute, Klaipėda Regional Waste Management Center, Klaipėda Vandens, Klaipėda University Steam Center, Curonian Spit National Park Directorate, Lithuanian Energy Institute, Lithuanian Maritime Museum and others.

The educational fair of companies, organizations and institutions that are concerned with the preservation of the Baltic Sea ecosystem, the interactive cognitive activities with the educational institutions and the artists and the community workshops will also be held throughout the day. They will be coordinated by professional artists from the Telšiai Faculty of Vilnius Academy of Arts, but all visitors to the event will be coordinated by professional artists from the Vilnius Academy of Arts. This work of sustainable art will be a symbolic souvenir that reminds that future creation begins with simple actions.

Guests of the festival will also be able to participate in the Ecoprotm Battle, where you will need to answer a variety of interesting questions about ecology, sustainability and green technology. Participants will be able to connect to the battle with QR codes and mobile phones, while special sustainable prizes will be expected by the winners.

The discussion « What is True Sustainability » will be invited to gain knowledge, in which professionals in various fields – from fashion and art to ecology and technology business – will discuss the most common sustainability myths and real opportunities to live in a full, beautiful and sustainable way. The discussion will focus on practical solutions and real challenges.

An unexpected and witty part of the program will be waiting for the guests of the festival – a K2 Comedy club comedian program created specifically for the festival, where Lithuanian comedians will look at the importance of the Baltic Sea to Lithuania, ecology and our habits.

And finally, after the participants ‘award ceremony, the festival will culminate with a special musical performance – cellist band Voiceless will perform a specially arrangement of MK Čiurlionis’ Sea. This show will symbolically combine the year of MK Čiurlionis, the theme of the sea and the contemporary approach to the classics.

« Self -Waves » is not a one -day celebration, but a long -term initiative that will invite residents, organizations and companies to contribute to the sustainable future with their daily choices and actions. The festival is open to everyone, both people interested in ecology and for those who are just looking for fun and meaningful activities on the weekend.
