Kim van Oncen sells clothes for charity: « This is how I keep my wardrobe manageable: things come with it so occasionally have to go » (Antwerp)
‘Thuis’ actress Kim van Oncen has felt her enviable wardrobe. She will soon sell the harvest at her favorite vintage store in ‘t Stad, Pardaf. Part of the proceeds goes to mothers for mothers.
Kim van Oncen is an actress and supermarket operator today, but once she started as a fashion blogger. She got the love of clothing with her mother. Now Kim often shares photos of her outfits on Instagram, a remnant of her former career.
The actress regularly receives questions about her wardrobe. « The most frequently asked question is when I do a closet sale, » says the Antwerp. « I always thought that was a good idea, but I did not get it organized and always postponed it in organizational terms. »

Charlotte Vrydaghs, manager of Pardaf, suggested to organize the sale in her store. Plenty of place, the beautiful building in the Gemeentestraat has no fewer than 24 rooms. Charlotte is the third generation of the Vrydaghs family who keeps the store open. Kim has been a regular customer and donor for years. « From I could walk, my mom took me to Pardaf, » she recalls. « To buy and donate clothes. I have always kept doing that. That’s how I keep my wardrobe manageable: things are added so there must be away from time to time. »

Kim will donate part of the proceeds to mothers for mothers. That non -profit organization is committed to families with young children who are struggling financially. « That only seemed logical to me, » Kim explains. “Pardaf has long been working with mothers for mothers. I regularly donate to them through the store. Toys from the children, clothes ….”

In recent months, Van Oncen has gathered the things she will sell. Clothing, accessories and shoes of herself, but also from her children Stella and Jack and her husband Niels. “It was not easy. Sometimes I went through the pile again and I started to doubt certain pieces again. (laughs) But I have been strong. I’d rather make someone else happy with it. «
Kim’s wardrobe is already ready in Pardaf. Unfortunately it is a while to wait until you can buy them. The Closet Sale is planned for 20 to 24 May. The Antwerp carries – and sells – pieces of chains such as Zara and H&M to more expensive brands such as Essentiel and Rae Antwerp. The prices will therefore differ. « But there is a nice discount anyway and there is something for everyone, » the actress assures.
