Killed a cyclist, claimed she was a game! After 8 years he has ruled him – from a fourth attempt
The Council of the Split County Court confirmed the verdict of the Virovitica Municipal Court, which was sentenced to one year in prison for causing a car accident in which Damir Jurisic lost his life. The County Court rejected Perkec’s appeal, as well as the one filed by the Prosecutor’s Office, making the verdict final. And only from the fourth attempt.
Specifically, Perkec already had three judgments for this accident, but the senior courts abolished them. Recall that a car accident, in which Perkec is an official Škoda in the Virovitica suburban settlement of Bačevac, took place on September 8, 2017 in the evening. The unlucky Jurisic, who was driving on a bicycle, Perkec struck from the back and dropped into a travel ditch. Jurisic was killed and Perkec left the scene of the accident. Jurisic was looking for friends and family all night, and they accidentally found his body the next day.

And only then did the club start consider. Perckec appeared to the police the next day that the night earlier in Bačevac, he had run into a deer vehicle owned by the County Roads Administration, whose director he was. He said he stopped to check where Srna was, but there was no ditch in a travel ditch. His story was confirmed in court by Nikolina Cacic, who was then in the vehicle with the Director of ŽUC. According to the statements in court, they went to the city after a party at ŽUC, where Perkec drank another beer after the party. Admittedly, Perkec is alcohol tested, but only after over 12 hours after reporting to the police. Although he claimed that he had hit the game, Perkec should still contact the police immediately, not after 12 hours.
When the date and place of the funeral of his father’s two daughter was learned, Perkec went to a funeral company from Virovitica and settled all the costs of funerals, without the knowledge of the family. However, the owner of the funeral company returned him money because Jurisic’s wife Adrian and her family refused to pay them the costs.
Perkec was originally judged at the Virovitica Municipal Court who had acquitted him of the guilt. They emphasized that the Municipal State Attorney’s Office did not do everything at that moment the necessary actions, that they did not ordered the expert evaluation of the bicycle and clothing killed, although the police excluded it from the tragedy site. However, the senior court abolished that verdict.
Then a new trial was convened on which Perkec was found guilty. But there was a little unusual mistake at that repeated trial. Namely, according to a higher court instruction, the retrial should be kept before the new Trial Chamber. But there was a jury in the new Trial Council, which was in the previous convocation. The Virovitica Municipal Court ‘forgot’ about this circumstance, so the second instance court also abolished that verdict.
On the third procedure, Perkec was found guilty and sentenced to one year in prison for causing a car accident. However, the final judgment of the second instance court in Split also abolished the final judgment and returned the same judge to re -decisive. The reasons for such a decision of the Split County Court saw that the Municipal Court did not conduct a reconstruction of a car accident.
Now, eight years after the accident, Perkec finally welcomed a final verdict. He was sentenced to an unconditional prison for a year. In the investigation he said he had hit the game all the time. All these eight years have remained the director of the County Roads Administration in Virovitica.
– Thank you dear God that it was finally over. After almost eight years I don’t know what to say. On the one hand, I am satisfied because the culprit for the death of my husband was still convicted.
