Kian Kaiser wants to « destroy the system from the inside » – DiePresse.com
What is it like to grow up as a child of migrants in Upper Austria? And what questions do you have to listen to as a transperson? Cabaret artist Kian Kaiser has answered in the successful « Hoamatlond, Hoamatlond ».
Staging your own life story in a cabaret program is not an easy undertaking. After all, you not only have to have something to tell, but also have enough wit and charisma for a full -length appearance. With his first program in front of the audience in the Ottakringer backdrop, Kian Kaiser proved that he has both. « Hoamatlond, Hoamatlond » is the name of the show, the title of which is of course not by chance from the Upper Austrian state anthem. In the 1990s in the province and later in Linz, Kaiser grew up as a child of Iranian immigrants. « Foreigners out », chanted the inhabitants at the train station in Kaiser’s memory, but the parents understood this as a request to get out of the train and to stay.
Destroy the system from the inside
In the first part, Kaiser traces his childhood and adolescence with a successful mix of observation humor, social satire and a portion of absurd comedy. It quickly becomes clear: whether set up for the television-addicted family at the satellite dish, when it comes to quick-witted react to the band t-shirts of music nobs or at the embarrassing poetry slam, emperor is a born entertainer. After a break, the program then gets a more serious tone. Kaiser tells of his experiences as a trans man, as « Doskozil of the Patriarchate », who « wants to destroy the system from the inside ». From the beard, which he is said to have had before the first testosterone dose, and from the grown clitoris that he has finally found as a man.
Kaiser shows a strong stage presence with gags for more than two hours (with a break) that almost always work. At the end of the piece, the bow succeeds in the starting point. « Hoamat », Kaiser comes to the conclusion, « are rooms and places that we create where you can be as you are. » Gladly more of it!
