Kept on secret for four years until the girlfriend freed
She is in the process of planning one of life’s very big parties, as boyfriend for four years, Tom, has freed. At the same time, she is experiencing massive attention on the web after sharing a video in her Tiktok account, @ashtonlangford_, where she has shared the news.
« The reaction really surprised me. I’ve never had a video that got so many views, » she said in an interview with the media Newsweek.
« I just thought it was a funny video – nothing special. But some people really got mad in the commentary track. »
In the video, Langford wears a glass of red wine and shows its sparkling engagement ring to the camera, followed by a delicious dish in an ovenproof dish.
« Telled him for four years that I couldn’t cook. He was free. Now I cook every night, » she wrote as text over the video.
She added that her fiancé’s reaction was, ‘WTF – so you can cook?’. She ends with, « Girls! Save your best move to the final! »
« He unlocked the ‘Wifey level’, » she wrote as text during the video.
Langford’s humorous video received a lot of attention on social media, where it has received over 8.9 million views and 1.5 million likes since it was shared. However, the reactions have been shared why not everyone has taken the video equally well.
One user accused her, among other things, of ‘sexism to men’, while another thought the video ‘suggests it is the wife’s duty to cook’. A third was also not completely satisfied and called it ‘double morality’.
« I’m not cooking for a man unless I have a ring on my finger, » wrote a user who apparently backed the video’s message.
Another shared her own story of how she burned frozen food until she and the man had been married for a year, and she then served a perfect beef tenderloin for Christmas dinner – and impressed her father -in -law, who is a chef.
« Telled to him that I was bankrupt, even though I had $ 150,000 on the savings and a job with six -digit pay, » another user wrote.
In Langford’s case, however, it has been a truth with modifications, as she has actually cooked sometimes.
« The truth is that I haven’t actually been so good at cooking during our relationship, but I’ve made an extra effort lately to make delicious dinner for him because he has a physically demanding job, » she told Newsweek.
« And he deserves that. Especially now that he has freed. »
Langford told her that her future husband ‘thought the Tiktok video was fun’ and that ‘he loves to come home to a little extra special dinners for the time being’.
« We are living in the engagement bubble right now and will soon have to hold an engagement party to celebrate it with all our friends and family, » she said.
