I believe that future Olympic champions will grow here.

« This is the most modern athletics manic in Lithuania. Thanks to the project architects not only for the project itself, but also the idea of the name proposed. I will not play here, but seeing young people is really compressed by the heart. It is not only a wonderful building, but most importantly it is full of life and movement.

Exceptional design

The manege was built in the historic territory of Žaliakalnis, near Darius and Girėnas Stadium and Oak Park, so it was necessary to maintain harmony with the environment. The architects had a puzzle to make the building such as to meet the requirements of the International Federation of Athletics, but would not violate the height and volume restrictions in the area.

The new object is distinguished by its exterior – the structures consist of decorative concrete slabs. A total of a thousand reinforced concrete overlays and facade panels were needed to install athletics.

The project builders stated that the manege had an exclusive jagged roof construction. It provides for the possibility of installing a solar power plant and a water heating manifold. The monolithic concrete shape of the building is reminiscent of a treadmill, and the windows oriented to the north side ensure maximum use of sunlight without overheating the premises. This structure is complemented by Darius and Girėnas stadium standing next to the exterior.

The most modern manic in Lithuania

The total area of the Kaunas Athletics Manic building is just over 15 thousand. sq.m. m. The technical project was prepared by Kaunas company Archas, the winning architectural competition.

The high -level closed athletics will be able to take place in the manic, and about 1 thousand will be watched. viewers.

The new spaces include six 200 m long and eight 60 m treadmills, jumping, ball push -up and long -distance training sectors. Athletes will be able to improve their physical shape in the gym and gymnastics halls, and will regain their strength in massage cabinet and two baths. In addition, the structure is equipped with administrative premises, meeting spaces, coaching and athlete changing rooms, café, and other necessary infrastructure.

We would like to thank Kaunas for their contribution to the sport of Lithuania as a whole – a strong investment in our youth.

The building is equipped with a modern ventilation, lighting and audio system, which provides comfort for both athletes and event visitors, and underground parking lots under the manege.

There is also an alley of fame at the new sports facility, so the city gave tribute to those who made Lithuania’s name of Lithuania.

The construction of the manege cost nearly $ 24 million. euros. The works are funded by Kaunas City Municipality.
