Kaunas Rampa – a retrospective of 50 years of Lithuanian amateur theaters
On the first day of the festival, April 10, on the Great Hall stage at 2 p.m. The performance of Radviliškis Lizaika Gymnasium Theater Studio (dir. Rasa Atkočiūnienė) – a witty and sensitive tale of adolescence challenges, friendship, first love and self -search and 6 pm. The performance of the Matuizai Cultural Center Amateur Theater Giraitė – the comedy « Three Dzūkai Beauties » (directed by Irena Čeplikienė) is a funny story in which Dzūkian spoken and fiery temperament reveals women’s desire for love and life lessons.
On April 11, at 2 pm, the Jurbarkas Cultural Center Theater Theater « Rainbow » with a performance ŠKAC, Mirtie (dir. Birutė Schneideriene), who tells about young people’s lives in a small town. The strife, the first love, the encounter of dream and reality are the themes of the performance, conveyed sensitively and playfully. Also on April 11, at 6 pm, Kaunas Cultural Center Kazys Binkis Theater will present the performance general rehearsal (directed by Nida Vita Žilinskienė) – a grotesque drama reflecting the impact of the great shocks of the world on the common man. The performance raises questions about the meaning of life and the survival of human values.
On April 12, at 12 noon, a cunning cat (directed by Sigita and Romas Matuliai) – is free Š. The interpretation of the « Battle Cat » of Per, fascinating the combination of music, dance and positive emotions. The story tells of a smart cat who helps his master to pursue his dreams. 6 p.m. The Oslo Lithuanian Theater will be performed with the performance of Don Don Lifet (dir. Roberta Abramovičiūtė), which explores the topics of the meaning of love, infidelity and inner human suffering. The protagonist, Don Perly, has experienced his wife’s betrayal, although he has come to terms with his fate, is still looking for answers about true love.
Over 50 years, Kaunas Rampa has become an integral part of the history of Kaunas Amateur Theater. The festival not only presents the latest amateur theater achievements, but also becomes a platform for young creators, and promotes cooperation between different cities and theaters. This year’s event is not only a retrospective, but also a gaze to the future. The organizers emphasize that the festival will continue to seek to foster amateur theater culture, to engage new collectives and to present bold, topical creative ideas. Kaunas Rampa will undoubtedly remain an important phenomenon of Kaunas culture, which will invite viewers to discover the magic of theater for many years. This year, Kauno Rampa will remind not only the viability of amateur theater, but also its importance to cultural identity.
