Kaunas flooded the Bavarian spirit: was not indifferent to royal drinks
Great interest
The Wolf Engelman Gallery took place for the second year, the Bavarian Weekend. This year, the event stood out with an even greater interest in visitors – about 500 fans of Bavarian traditions, who had a great time with friends and German rhythms, visited two days.
Throughout the weekend, the Bavarian and Middle Ages spirit, inspiring the participants to contribute to the atmosphere, came to the Bavarian Weekend celebration, dressed in traditional Bavarian costumes, boldly danced with the band Allegretto Band and sang the most popular Bavarian melodies. In addition, I had to lift a liter of drinks more than once – another highlight without which the world -renowned Oktoberfesto Festival is unimaginable.

« The door was greeted by the armored knights. Inside, our friends who ordered new drinks were waiting for us. A really successful celebration, I tasted traditional German dishes, they were perfect for drinks. I have no doubt that in the autumn you will have to visit the Oktoberfesto festival in Kaunas.
Audronė Saulėnienė, Coordinator of the Center for Competences at the Volfas Engelman brewery, says she is convinced last year that the Bavarian culture and its brewing traditions are very close to Lithuanians.
500 – Bavarian traditions have been visited in two days.
« But this year, interest exceeded our expectations – space for everyone who wants to have just no longer.
His Royal Majesty Bavarian Prince Luitpold, who specially sent a video greeting to the event participants and was pleased with the strengthening friendship with the Wolf Engelman brewery, also invited to the Bavarian weekend.
« The event was extremely successful and the atmosphere was perfectly complemented by medieval accents – the guests at the door were greeted by real armored knights, torches, and on the screens we showed images from Kaltenberg Castle, where one of the world’s most spectacular medieval festivals every year.

New royal drinks
During the Bavarian Weekend, the guests gathered at the Wolf Engelman Gallery had an exceptional opportunity to taste the new royal beverage, whose recipe for centuries in Kaltenberg Castle. This is where the celebration of the famous Oktoberfesto was born.
A couple of years ago, his Royal Majesty Bavarian Prince Luitpold entrusted the Volfas Engelman brewery in Kaunas. In addition, there was constant quality control to make the drink taste the same as in Bavaria. After seeing that Kaunas brewers were able to maintain the highest quality standards, the Wolf Engelman brewery entrusted the royal family. There is no doubt that it will appeal to the Lithuanian market and will be even more popular than the first drink.

« All Bavarian holidays begin with a drinking barrel, » said Petras Sadovski, chief brewer of Volf Engelman, about the symbolic but very important accent during the holidays, immediately adding that the barrel had the new royal drink. – It is always easier to cook the second drink, because when we cooked the first, we received a lot of royal family attention, care, advice. In addition, the second recipe is easier to make. We now know the requirements of the royal family. The second recipe drink is great, so we have no doubt that it will love it as well. ”
The organizers of the royal drinks also matched the food prepared according to the historical recipes of the royal Bavarian family cuisine, so the participants could taste the legendary pork carcass with potato meatballs and red cabbage, Bratwurst sausages to traditional apple barrels.

Nurtured traditions
Marius Horbačauskas, CEO of Wolf Engelman, is convinced that the second Bavarian weekend has reaffirmed that Bavarian traditions and their authentic presentation in Lithuania are very promising.
« When we signed a cooperation agreement with Bavarian Prince Luitpold two years ago, commemorating the 170th anniversary of the brewery, we dreamed of creating not only unique products but also cultural events that combine people. And the opportunities for Lithuanians to present Bavarian culture even more, ”said M. Horbačauskas.
The head of Wolf Engelman also mentioned that this year the big Oktoberfesto celebration, which will take place on September 19-20, was waiting in Kaunas this year. It will be the sixth time this traditional Bavarian drink and food festival will be held in Kaunas.
