Kaunas Day – 80 years. Botanical Garden – Thanks to readers

Each birthday obliges you not only to look at the year, tangible achievements, but also to enjoy each other.

“The largest daily newspaper in Lithuania“ Kauno diena ”is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. On this occasion, the editorial office is organizing various events throughout the year in Kaunas. The largest of them has been in the VMU Botanical Garden since Thursday – « Botanical Nights ». We have already distributed thousands of tickets for readers of the newspaper, and we look forward to tens of thousands of visitors in four days, ”said Tadas Širvinskas, the head of the Media News company, which is spending Kaunas Day.

Friday is also dedicated to the Botanical Garden for the Jubilee Birthday of Kauno diena, which gathered the newspaper and invited guests.

The event is informal for communicating or memories, and there is something to tell – some journalists and the technical department started working on Kaunas Day even decades ago and grew up and improved with the daily newspaper.

“Thirty years ago, I started working as a student at Kauno diena. And I could always expect colleagues’ help, useful tips. I am grateful to them to all, especially the head of the daily newspaper. Editor Tekle Mačiulienė. I hope that that benevolent Kaunas aura has been preserved so far, and readers are feeling. Everyday life takes us new challenges, but with the ambitious editorial staff and loyal readers we will overcome them as well.
