Kaufland begins to write the amounts on cash vouchers and in euro

As of today (June 6), the chain with the largest assortment in the country – Kaufland, begins to visualize in the euro the final value of the bills in the cash vouchers. The team of the company is fully ready to ensure the most transparent and smooth transition in the introduction of the euro as an official currency in Bulgaria, in compliance with all legal provisions. The retailer performs tests from the end of 2024 and is fully ready for over -production both at the prices in the stores and the accounts of its customers at the official fixed banking course: 1 euro = 1,95583 BGN.

« For more than half a year, we have been performing successful tests on the company on our network and we have absolute willingness to comply with the established provisions. We have a responsibility for our clients the transition to be smooth and to be with them in the process of adaptation, » commented Tsvetomir Uzunov, Kaufland Bulgaria’s financial officer.

Six months before the appointed date for switching to the unified European currency and 1 year after the introduction of the euro, prices in all Kaufland sites will be double marked and clearly written in both currencies.

In the coming weeks, the company provides a smooth transition in the labeling of the two currencies, gradually introducing separate product groups.
