William and Kate will go to an island off the north-western coast of the country for a two-day visit starting April 29ththe same date as their wedding in 2011 in Westminster Abbey.

The couple, who in Scotland has the title of Duke and Duchess of Rothesay, met at the University of St. Andrews in 2005, during the art history lessons. They attended for most of their four years at university. Their visit, designed to celebrate rural communities, crafts and agriculture, will begin on April 29 on the island of Mull, where Tobermory will begin. The couple will visit the local town hall and then visit the local producers’ market, where it will taste typical products and meet some craftsmen.

The principles will also take the opportunity to launch a partnership between their Royal Foundation and the local area to support two community spaces in Mull, which has a population of about 3000 people and boasts a renowned tourist, agricultural and fish tradition. In the western part of the island, William, 42 years old, and Kate, 43, have planned to visit a local Croft (a small farm) to find out more about the sustainable agriculture that is practiced and on the hospitality of the island.

The second day of the visit, the couple will spend time with the CountrySide Rangers of the Mull and Iona Ranger Service. There, William and Kate will join a group of local schoolchildren for a little outdoor learning in the ancient Atlantic rainforest. It is considered one of the most precious habitats of Scotland. This is the first scheduled visit, so far announced, for the couple after the Easter holidays, spent with their three children, Prince George, 11 years old, Princess Charlotte, 9 years old and Prince Louis who turned 7 on 23 April last. During the holidays, they enjoyed a white week on the Alps and spent most of the time in their country house, Anmer Hall, Norfolk. The family is said to have entertained Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, Easter Sunday, where they were seen going to the church to St. Mary Magdallen, in the Royal Tenuta of Sandingham.
