Kasselakis: Elected President of the Republic Movement with 96.84%

The overwhelming majority was elected President of the Democracy Movement the Stefanos Kasselakis. In particular, the results of the vote highlighted him with 96.84%.

Mr Kasselakis then addressed a speech to the National Council of the Democracy Movement, saying that « the party for us is not an end in itself. It’s not bureaucracy. It is the home of every employee, every unemployed, every self -employed, every honest businessman.  » He added that « it is not founded by Messiahs. It is created every day, through direct democratic, equal processes. « 

He emphasized for Article 86 on the responsibility of ministers that the position of the Democracy Movement is the complete abolition. « No patches, no exchange. Politicians cannot be protected by the laws that vote alone. Politics must clean up. If you don’t fight money in politics, nothing changes, « he said.

Concerning the Railway Tragedy in Tempi, he argued that « a indictment for 57 dead units of homicide is not standing. An indictment without the moral perpetrator, that is, Mr. Mitsotakis himself, is not standing. « 

According to him, « the European Union is the last stronghold of liberal democracy in the world. Our position is to be the protagonists in its defense. If Europe wants more control over the Bosporus straits, this can be achieved with clear support for Greece’s right to extend to 12 nautical miles. « 

For human rights, Mr Kasselakis said that he envisions that the Democracy Movement is « a pioneer in protecting human rights in Europe and in the world. Human rights are not a Timing issue. They are non -negotiable. « 

‘We need participatory capitalism’

On the role of leadership in the Democracy Movement he pointed out that he himself, « I am not like them, I did not become like them, and I will not be like them. Take this truth contract and make the reliability of governance. « 

He argued that « we see that the numbers are prosperous but people are unhappy. This is the definition of neoliberalism « and stressed that » we need participatory capitalism. Catholic basic income. Breaking technological giants. « 

He added that « Greece is not Merkel’s child. It is the soul of Europe. We have no debts. Our only debt is against the Greek people. Two Greece is currently clashing: Greece of Remoula and Greece of Creation. We are with the equality of opportunities. With justice. With democracy. « 

Finally, Mr. Kasselakis stressed that « say what we are embraced and show that we are not interested in transactions. We will wait until society is ready to make the big democratic leap. «
