Jutarnji ‘Cikol’s’ volunteers in Zagreb: ‘It takes the cigarettes for 10 to 15 years to break down’
Cleaning teddy bears and Rokotok on Saturday morning are organizing a morning « Čikolov » in Zagreb as part of the « throwing a chick in the basket » campaign, after starting in 2023 actions in the actions in 2023.

The cigarette butts are the most common waste in the environment and in average as many as 80 percent of them were rejected in a wrong place, and this results in as many as 4.5 bodies of cigarette butts annually ending outside the waste bin.
They are a source of harmful and pollutant substances in the soil and water and their toxic effect on different organisms has been proven. The most commonly used filters are polymer, made of cellulose acetate, which is extremely difficult biodegradable.
Opacles with the help of precipitation reaches rivers and ocean
It is worrying that with the help of precipitation, they end up in the drain, so they come to the rivers and oceans, and they reach the beaches from the ocean, while because of their small mass, they often transmit the wind, « warning the bears.
With the « Throwing the Uncle in the Bow » campaign, they want to point out the problem of the oecoses in the environment.
– In our so -called We have gathered as many as 250,000 cigars all over Croatia and even Europe, and now we have been joined by seven elementary and one high school in the campaign – Stefan added.
They are now focused on educating children using quizzes and short plays, all with cleaning actions in the immediate vicinity of schools.
Cikovs have been organized in Zagreb, Nova Kapela, Varaždin and Križevci so far, symbolically even on Gibraltar and Zurich, and the bears also cleaned the center of Ljubljana from Opusak.
Dispute education, more effect would be punished by throwing a cigarent
Stefan says they are also active on social networks, adding that education is a dispute and would be more effect if the penalties to throw creatures were introduced.
So far, more than 2000 volunteers have participated in the actions of cleaning teddy bears, including many children. They collected more than 130 tons of waste, realized almost 500 cleaning actions.
– With each new action, some new people always come and we are glad that more and more children are coming, who are slowly becoming our focus – says Stefan.
