Jury and guest jurors in season 20
« Grill den Henssler » is a popular cooking show on German television that had its TV premiere more than a decade ago. The main player of the show is the namesake Steffen Henssler – a renowned chef who is also in front of the camera in season 20. The « Grill the Henssler » jury was long from Reiner Calmund, Christian Rach and comedian Mirja Boes – until Boes was replaced by Jana Ina Zarrella due to her temporal restrictions. We present the current jurors.

Reiner Calmund, so this time only at the beginning
Reiner Calmund is the oldest jury member of « Grill den Henssler » and evaluates the courts of Steffen Henssler and his colleagues since the first broadcast in 2013. With almost 30 years of experience as a manager of Bayer Leverkusen, the Calmund, born in Brühl, played a key role in the transformation of the one-time underdog association into a successful club. In addition to his work in football, the 75-year-old has also proven his writer’s talent with the book « A Calory rarely comes alone » and is present in numerous TV formats such as quiz shows, documentary and talk shows. As a passionate connoisseur, Reiner Calmund brings his knowledge of good food into his reviews and shy away from a blunt comment.

Christian Rach
In 1986 Christian Rach opened his first restaurant in Hamburg and quickly established himself as a top chef. Already in 2005 he gained great fame through his RtlThe show « Rach, the restaurant tester », in which he used his knowledge to bring back on the road to success. Christian Rach received numerous awards, including the Bavarian television award and the Golden Camera. Then he devotes new TV projects such as « Rachs Restaurant School » or « Rach Undercover ». In addition to his work on television, Rach is also active as an author and has already published many cookbooks in which he shares his culinary ideas and pleasure concepts.

Jana Ina Zarrella
Jana Ina Zarrella has been part of the « Grill den Henssler » family since 2022. She is the successor to Mirja Boes, former jury member and candidate of the anniversary special. Jana Ina comes from Brazil and works in the areas of moderation, singing and fashion work. Since 2005 she has been married to the singer of « Bro’Sis », Giovanni Zarrella. She has a long passion for cooking and, together with Johann Lafer, published a cookbook called « Casa Zarrella », in which she shared her favorite recipes. Jana Ina has also been a guest in the « Grill den Henssler » cooking show and is therefore very familiar with the challenges of the show.

Bruce Darnell

Bruce Darnell is an American choreographer who also works as a model and catwalk coach. He became known primarily through his role as a jury member in the television programs « Germany’s Next Top Model » and « The Super Talent ». Darnell, born in Colorado in 1957, served as a paratrooper at the 82nd US Affair Division in Fort Bragg, North Carolina and studied sociology for two and a half years. Today he lives in the Netherlands.
Ali Güngörmüş

Ali Haydar Güngörmüş was born in 1976 in Pageou East Anatolian. He is a German-Turkish star chef and TV player. He started his career in Munich in 1995 and received his first Michelin star for the “Le Canard Nouveau” restaurant in Hamburg in 2005. In 2014 he opened the « Pageou » restaurant in Munich, followed by « Pera Meze » 2022. Güngörmüş is known from TV programs such as « The Kitchen Battle », « Grill den Henssler » and « Kitchen Impossible ».
