July VEF's summer house will feature the persecuted Pussy Riot / Day persecuted by the Russian authorities
The group will introduce the new performance « Riot Days ». The idea of the concert is based on the book of several times arrested by Mary Alohin. The concert will be opened by a local punk group « Depustsutes ».
Riot Days is a performance that dates back to 2017, but is following what is happening, is constantly evolving and includes real -time reflections on political persecution and topical events such as Russian aggression against Ukraine. With over 400 performances, Pussy Riot has visited many parts of the world.
Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, more than 150 « Riot Days » performances have been held, which have managed to collect more than 200,000 euros to support the Ukrainian Children's Hospital « Ohmatdyt » in Kijiv, as well as political prospects in Russia.
The organizers of the event point out that « Pussy Riot » is a Russian protest art group. It was founded in March 2011. The collective has a variable number of participants.
The group staged provocative punk rock performances in public places, of which music videos were made and published on the Internet. The main topics of the collective were feminism, LGBT rights and opposition to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
LETA has already written that in February, the Moscow Basman District Court decided to arrest the Pussy Riot and members of the Riot Days concert tour Alohin, Olga Borisov, Diana Burkin, Alina Petrov and Taso Pletner.
According to the web publication « Mediazone », they are accused of distributing « fake news » for the Russian army, doing it in a group for political reasons.
Five of the Pussy Riot and Riot Days members were announced in July 2024, when one of the Pussy Riot members received a news of her bank account arrest in connection with a criminal case.
