Judgment: 18 years in prison for youth coach of Jeunesse Esch

On Thursday afternoon, Lisandro L. was sentenced to a prison sentence of 18 years by a capitals in the first instance. In January 2023, he fatally injured an attacker on the sidelines of a U13 soccer training. The enforcement of the prison sentence was subjected to probation for twelve years. The court recognized neither self -defense nor provocation as mitigating circumstances.

The probation requirements include participation in aggression therapy and the compensation of the bereaved. In the civil proceedings, the chamber appealed to several family members of the compensation killed in the amount of 56,000 euros. The judges recognized the victim’s part of a third. In addition, Lisandro L. must pay the CNS compensation of around 7,350 euros.

The attacker storms onto the soccer field with knives

On January 20, 2023, a troublemaker caused a sensation during Jeunesse Esch’s U13 team. First there was a word battle and a smaller wrangling with the trainer, whereupon the unknown left the site. A little later, he returned to the field – now armed with several freshly bought knives – back to the field, with the intention of taking revenge on the coach.

Three men, including the trainer and a player, were able to overwhelm the attacker. As a result, the youth coach reached for one of the previously thrown away knives and stabbed the attacker several times – a artery was severed on the right leg. The 25-year-old later died of the consequences of the injury.

No judgment against the player

The judges expressed a suspension du Prononcé against the player who was accused of beating the perpetrator and throwing a brick on his chest. This means that his guilt has been determined, but there is no conviction and no punishment is imposed – under the edition of a one -year probation period. There are also no claims against him in civil law. In addition, the judges recognized a partial self -defense for him. When the argument turned out, it was also the player who tried to protect the later fatality.
