Joris Vandenbroucke is the new chairman of De Lijn: « Building a public transport on which everyone can count » (Ghent)

Joris Vandenbroucke (for Ghent) was appointed on Friday by the Flemish Government as chairman of the Board of Directors of De Lijn.
The Flemish government indicated a whole series of mandates on Friday. The Flemish Minister for Mobility and Public Works Annick De Ridder (N-VA) has indicated new members for the board of directors of De Lijn.
Joris Vandenbroucke, who is currently ships of Mobility and Public Works in Ghent, has been appointed as the new chairman of the Board of Directors of De Lijn. He succeeds Johan Sauwens (CD&V). In the board of directors, decisions are made, among other things, on large investments, rates and the strategy of the transport company.
Vandenbroucke has been in favor of more investments in the bus and tram network in Flanders for years. In Ghent, too, his party has been striving for more investments from De Lijn. « I look forward to building a strong public transport company on which everyone can count, » says Vandenbroucke.
Koen Kennis (N-VA), who is mobility ships in Antwerp, has been appointed as vice-chairman. Marc Descheemaecker (N-VA) was vice-chairman so far, but remains on the board of directors. Tom Dehaene (CD&V) has also been appointed.
