John Wick’s spin-off, ballerina appeared

In recent years, the John Wick series has become one of the absolute favorites of the action film genre – on the one hand, because we have seen Keanu Reeves in a truly body role and, on the other hand, because it was able to breathe into a relatively tired film scene using intuitive solutions. Two years after the last work, we have just received the series of the series, Ballerina, the series. But was he able to save the mood and « coolness » we were used to, with another protagonist? Caution, spoiler danger!

The ballerina is the John Wick-line 3 and 4. The synopsis of the spin-off work is very similar to the original films-it was a well-established formula, so it would have been superfluous to deviate from it. At the beginning of the story, we’ll get to know our protagonist Eve Macarro, formed by Ana de Armas, to destroy everything and everyone to take revenge, like John Wick. Our protagonist meets at some points of the film, and in friendly and less friendly situations, several times during the series, the dreaded assassin called « Baba Yaga » (in Hungarian in Hungarian).

The extinguishing of pain

In the first part of the film, we can follow Eve Maccaro to become an innocent little girl into a one -man killing machine. In connection with the original films, it is worth emphasizing that Macarro is raised by the same family – that is, the Russian -Bellarus bond, the Ruska Roma – the same family – that is, the underworld assassins. John Wicket. After receiving training for a hard and cruel treatment, he sets off his mission to find his father’s killer, the chancellor, shaped by Gabriel Byrne. During the long journey he travels, he will interact with several iconic characters in addition to the aforementioned John Wicken.

Fans of the original series may be happybecause during the film, our protagonist meets with the cunning and all -knowing hotel manager, Winston formed by Ian McShane, a loyal and serving hotel port, Charon (played by Lance Reddick, who died two years ago) and the director of Anjelica Huston, the leader of his underworld family.

Bring the obligatory – or more?

The director of the Spin-off work, Len Wiseman, works with a similar visual world, cuts and scenes as the creator of original films, Chad Stahelski. From the beginning to the end, a mass of action -packed scenes follow each other that are loyal to the original creations: vibrant, smooth Ana de Armas Essentially, he does with his opponents in the same cruel style as John Wick. On several occasions in Night Clubs, the current target of young people partying with pulsating electronic music in the original series, hunting down its current target in a neon light disease.

The former to parts It is also typical that the protagonist sometimes invents himself beyond the usual methods in the midst of armed struggles and also depicts tools that do not count as an average weapon. Here, too: we can see, for example, as Eve In seconds, you put a knife on your pistol while shooting from several directions; or as he tosses plates disturbing his opponents; Perhaps a street water tube will grab it to confront a flamethrower.

And if we are already iconic actors, we will return to iconic locations. Beyond the Ruska Roma base in Berlin, the Continental Hotel in New York is reappeared and our protagonist also visits Prague, where Daniel Pine is asking for help-she is played by Norman Reedus, who is probably known from The Walking Dead. Here is a longer scene in which, according to the film, they start shooting at Prague, but since it plays a lot of nights, they are cleverly hidden in the streets of Budapest (so it is not surprising that several Hungarian names appear on the cast at the end of the film).

It is good for him

As mentioned above, like the original series, the focus is on continuous and intense action scenes, which the spin-off film gives the same way. There are no moments when we feel that Ana de Armas is clumsy or cramping a situation-on the contrary, the transitions of the action scenes seem as natural as in the original creations and do not feel character strangers in this role, even though essentially a legendary actor Keanu reevest changed. By the way, John Wick, who has repeatedly appeared in the film, brings the casual and cruel killing machine that we are used to – and even advises our sometimes lost protagonist.

Ballerina is severely Ana de Armas It is sharpened for its formation, which is not a problem in itself, as the original series was similar. The other actors are dwarfed by, so there are so few scenes that a really concrete, mature opinion on their shaping cannot be shaped. The older characters already mentioned all bring what they are expecting, and the Chancellor, which is considered to be the « main evil », or Gabriel Byrne, really gives the feeling that he is a deteriorated person who is not sorry for the average watch.

Ballerina will be screened by domestic film theaters from June 5.
