In recent years, the John Wick series has become one of the absolute favorites of the action film genre – on the one hand, because we have seen Keanu Reeves in a truly body role and, on the other hand, because it was able to breathe into a relatively tired film scene using intuitive solutions. Two years after the last work, we have just received the series of the series, Ballerina, the series. But was he able to save the mood and « coolness » we were used to, with another protagonist? Caution, spoiler danger!

The ballerina is the John Wick-line 3 and 4. The synopsis of the spin-off work is very similar to the original films-it was a well-established formula, so it would have been superfluous to deviate from it. At the beginning of the story, we’ll get to know our protagonist Eve Macarro, formed by Ana de Armas, to destroy everything and everyone to take revenge, like John Wick. Here is a longer scene in which, according to the film, they start shooting at Prague, but since it plays a lot of nights, they are cleverly hidden in the streets of Budapest (so it is not surprising that several Hungarian names appear on the cast at the end of the film).

As mentioned above, like the original series, the focus is on continuous and intense action scenes, which the spin-off film gives the same way. There are no moments when we feel that Ana de Armas is clumsy or cramping a situation-on the contrary, the transitions of the action scenes seem as natural as in the original creations and do not feel character strangers in this role, even though essentially a legendary actor Keanu reevest changed. By the way, John Wick, who has repeatedly appeared in the film, brings the casual and cruel killing machine that we are used to – and even advises our sometimes lost protagonist.

The other actors are dwarfed by, so there are so few scenes that a really concrete, mature opinion on their shaping cannot be shaped. The older characters already mentioned all bring what they are expecting, and the Chancellor, which is considered to be the « main evil », or Gabriel Byrne, really gives the feeling that he is a deteriorated person who is not sorry for the average watch.
