Johaug opens for the Olympics: « Had been fun »
Johaug made a comeback last fall after a break of just over two years, but has repeatedly stated that the return was only for one season. When the 36-year-old visits the television program « Good Morgen Norway » in Norwegian TV2 on Monday morning, it sounds different.
– It would have been a lot of fun. I have never competed at an Olympics in Europe. But I also know that it is not just making an Olympics, you have to make a huge investment, says Johaug in the TV program « Good Morgen Norway » on Norwegian TV2.
The big goal for the comeback was the World Cup in Trondheim. But the dream of a new gold was crushed – Johaug took three silver and one bronze – and maybe the revenge loss is enough from there to a new venture against the Olympics.
When she finished the elite career The first time it was, among other things, to become a mother. However, the family situation does not appear to be an impossible obstacle. Husband Nils Jakob Hoff is one of those trying to persuade her to run another season.
– He very much wants me to do the Olympics. He gives small girls all the time. The other day he shaped the Olympic rings of some tomato cans, says Therese Johaug.
She has therefore promised to think through the matter.
– I think the gut feeling will determine. I have to feel that I want this deep down. Unless the gut feeling is right, it will not be good, says Johaug.
