Great victory! Romanian tennis player Jaqueline Cristian, 74th WTA, qualified on Thursday in the third round of the WTA 1000 tournament, equipped with prizes of over six million euros.
Cristian defeated Kazakh Iulia Putiţeva in the second round, World 29th, score 7-6 (2), 7-5.
The match lasted two hours and five minutes.
In the third round, Cristian will evolve with the Russian Diana Shnaider, 11th WTA and series 13.
The prize for qualifying in round three is 38. 313 euros and 65 WTA points.
Gabriela Ruse was defeated by American Danielle Collins, 6-3, 6-3, Thursday, in the second round of the WTA 1,000 tournament, with total prizes of 6,009,593 euros.
Ruse (27 years, 88 WTA), coming from qualifications, was inclined after an hour and 14 minutes in front of the Favorite number 29.
Gabriela Ruse, who did not run any time in this match, will receive for participation a CEC of 21,215 euros and 65 WTA points.
Collins (31 years old, 35 WTA) now has 2-1 in direct matches with Ruse, which he defeated in 2021, in the Palermo final, with 6-4, 6-2. Ruse had been imposed in the previous week, in Hamburg, 6-4, 1-6, 7-5, in the quarterfinals, on the way to his only WTA title, obtained after coming from qualifications.
Gabriela Ruse will also evolve double at Foro Italico, along with Ukrainian Marta Kostiuk, to face the couple Miyu Kato (Japan)/Aldila Sutjiadi (Indonesia).
