In 2010, Els Clottemans was sentenced to thirty years in prison for the murder of her girlfriend and love rivale Els van Doren, in 2006. She would then have sabotaged the parachute of the woman, so that Van Doren fell into the Limburg Opglabbeek. Over the years, Clottemans has always continued to deny that she has deliberately cut the cords. There were little hard evidence against the woman from Ternat in 2010, but there were many indications.

Fatal

The whole thing of the Limburg dish revolved around a triangular relationship between Els ‘Babs’ Clottemans, her friend Els van Doren and their joint Dutch lover Marcel. The three were members of the same parachute club, where they spent their weekends. On November 10, 2006, the two women approached the Dutchman. Van Doren would spend the night with Marcel, Clottemans had to sleep on a mat in the living room.

The assize jury eventually ruled after an eventful process, which lasted almost a month that there was no doubt about her fault: Clottemans committed the murder of Van Doren from jealousy. Clottemans has always maintained that she did not commit the murder of Els van Doren. That is remarkable, because a confession or debt insight is often important to be eligible to become free.
