Jan de Nul for the third time in a row with record sales
The ship excavator Jan de Nul benefits from port expansion and above all from the installation of wind turbines on the high seas. In 2024, the family company again made record sales with an increase of 36 percent compared to the previous year. The company reached the four billion euros for the first time. The net profit rose by 38 percent to 409 million euros.
« Despite strong geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainties, Jan de Nul can report a fantastic year with regard to the results, » says Jan Neckebroeck, CFO by Jan de Nul. « This is confident about the future, because the global tensions that are reinforced by growing protectionism will last until 2025. »
All business areas set up
Excavator and Energy projects at sea make 77 percent of the company’s sales. The construction of offshore wind farms and the installation of underwater cables to bring green energy ashore. With the construction of new ports in Spain, Senegal and India, the excavator activities of Jan de Nul continue to develop well.
Why travel ships under Luxembourg flag
Company boss Neckbroeck: « With 302 projects in 35 countries, we also generate this sales on all continents. Our largest market is still 42 percent, but also Asia and the Middle East make up 34 percent of our sales and North and South America 20 percent. »
The company’s order with 8,801 employees amounted to 9.55 billion euros at the end of 2024. This also a new record.
